Marching Season - Guys That Game

As Winter releases its grip upon Stokeros and allows Spring to assert its presence a kind of music accompanies the insistent melody of bird song and the bluster of wind squalls dance, chaotically, through trees. This music is the sound of hooves treading on soft grass, weighted by men in armour. A dull and erratic harmony is added by the clash of steel on steel as blades meet upon muddied training grounds. The subtle strain and tearing of leather is faint but always present, as the men who wield those swords wake from their months of peaceful home life and prepare to march to the drums of war. The snows that blocked paths, limited supply chains and hampered navigation are gone.
Now men muster, ravens return with pledges of allegiance and support, the blacksmiths, fletchers, leatherworkers and wainwrights find their services in demand and send out apprentices to gather resources. It is the time when men begin to move with a dire and dreadful purpose.

As much as I'd love to go to this, I don't think M would appreciate me disappearing to Stoke while she struggles through labour...

And we'll need to make sure that the Edinburgh event doesn't clash with this.
